Visiting Assistant Professor, Philosophy and Women, Gender, and Sexuality (EXPIRED)

Goucher College invites applications for a three year Visiting Assistant Professor to be jointly appointed in Philosophy and Women, Gender, and Sexuality. The two hiring programs — Philosophy and Women, Gender, and Sexuality — have a combined enrollment of approximately 60 majors (roughly 30/each).  We are seeking a candidate who can teach “Feminist Philosophy” and “Queer Theory,” and who has expertise in gender and sexuality. Preference will be given to candidates who work in both feminist theory (and/or intersectional feminisms) and LGBTQIA theory, and who are conversant with the history of philosophy and with theoretical approaches to the study of women, gender and sexuality. A competence in philosophy of race or in race and sexuality is preferred.

We seek a teacher and scholar who will have completed a Ph.D. in Philosophy and/or Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, or a related field. We are interested in someone who is able to work closely with students in a small liberal arts setting.
