Job description

Applications for the 2012-2013 J. Robert Beyster Fellowships and the Louis O. Kelso Fellowships are open to philosophers interested in the philosophical study of broadened ownership, broad-based capitalism, economic democracy, and democratic capitalism in the corporation and society in the United States. Philosophical explorations of ideas such as employee ownership, profit sharing, broad-based stock options, their role in social and economic life, and the broader philosophical questions raised by these ideas are encouraged.  The fellowships will be awarded to  Phd. candidates,  post-doctoral scholars, pre-tenure or post-tenure scholars, including one Visiting Professor.  The Fellows may be supported at their home institution or may be in residence at Rutgers University with the period and length of residency varying between July 1, 2012and June 30, 2013. The fellowships have a stipend of $25,000 or $12,500 and can be used for research, travel, or living expenses.  The fellowships are open to other scholars in the social sciences and humanities.  Please submit the following information by email by January 31, 2012: 1) A statement of no more than 1500 words describing the proposed study; 2)  a vita; and,  3) three letters of reference sent separately by email by the letter writers.
