Job description

The Department of Philosophy at UBC-Vancouver invites applications for a limited-term position at the rank of Assistant Professor Without Review to commence July 1st, 2020. The appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal for up to two additional years, subject to funding and performance review.

Area of Specialization: Ethics

The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. at the time of appointment and have research expertise in Ethics, demonstrated accomplishments in scholarship (evidenced by things like high-quality publications and significant conference participation), and evidence of excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active program of research and teaching, and to undertake service duties as assigned by the Head. The teaching load will be four 3-credit courses per year (a 2-2 load). Additional teaching ability in applied ethics would be an asset.
