Postdoctoral Researcher – Social Cognition

The Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto invites applications for a one-year Postdoctoral Scholar position beginning September 2020, funded by the University of Toronto’s Schwartz Reisman Institute for Technology and Society. The successful applicant will engage in philosophical research on social cognition; they will also participate in regular interdisciplinary lab meetings at the Institute, focusing on human regulation of artificial intelligence.

Required qualifications: Applicants must have completed all requirements for their doctorate by August 31, 2020. Candidates must also be no more than 5 years from the awarding of their degree as of the start date for the position.

The salary is $65,000 CAD annually, plus $5000 for research expenses; this is a one-year position. Please note that should the minimum rates stipulated in the collective agreement fall below the rates stated in this posting, the minimum rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
