The Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto invites applications for a two-year Postdoctoral Fellowship beginning September 2020. This position is part of the project Agency in Living Systems, which is conducted in conjunction with Indiana University, Wesleyan University, Stanford University, and University of Helsinki, and funded by a grant from the John Templeton Foundation. The successful applicant will engage in research directly relevant to the themes of the Agency in Living Systems project (https://agencyinlivingsystems.com). The postdoctoral fellow will have a primary appointment in the Department of Philosophy, but is also expected to engage in activities of the Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology (IHPST). The Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto is widely recognized as Canada’s best and most comprehensive philosophy department and as an international leader in the field. IHPST is one of Canada’s leading interdisciplinary centres for the history, philosophy, and social studies of science and technology.
