Job description

UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA, Vancouver, BC, Canada. Department of Philosophy.

The Department of Philosophy at The University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver Campus, invites applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure-track position). AOS: Ethics broadly construed to include metaethics (or meta-normativity), cross-cultural or non-Western approaches, history of ethics, applied ethics, etc. AOC: Open. A Ph.D. in Philosophy prior to taking up the position is required. Start date: July 1, 2021.

The successful applicant will be expected to maintain an active research program in ethics, develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in ethics, supervise Ph.D. dissertations in ethics, and contribute to departmental service. The standard teaching load is four one-semester courses annually (2-2). Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is subject to final budgetary approval.
