Job description

The Elizabeth D. Rockwell Center on Ethics and Leadership at the Hobby School of Affairs invites applications for a one-year Visiting Professor position in Ethics and Leadership for the 2021-22 academic year. 

The Visiting Professor will be expected to devote most of their time to their own research and writing. They will be provided an office, library access, and research funds to support these activities. Other expectations will be negotiable. Visiting Professors will usually be expected to teach one undergraduate or graduate course during the year, attend lectures and other Elizabeth D. Rockwell Center activities, be available for class visits, present a work-in-progress in the faculty seminar series, and give a public lecture. Funds might also be available to convene a symposium or conference on some area of their research. 

Compensation is competitive and should cover most or all of the salary of Associate and Full Visiting Professors. Moving expenses will also be available. The EDR Visiting Professor will normally be a one-year position but may also be appointed for just one semester (fall or spring) at the candidate’s request.

  Qualifications : 

A Ph.D. is required for this position.

We are interested in applications from faculty and professionals from all disciplines whose work focuses on ethics and/or leadership, but for the 2021-22 appointment are especially interested in individuals who work on issues of racial and/or gender justice, medical ethics, environmental ethics, or other timely policy-related issues. Applicants should be at least mid-career professionals with five or more years of experience in their field.
