Job description

The Department of Philosophy in the College of Arts and Sciences at Loyola University Chicago (LUC) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, for academic year 2021-22. The department seeks applicants with expertise in bioethics with an emphasis on racial and gender disparities in health. The successful candidate will be joining a department with more than 33 full-time faculty members, over 123 majors, 77 minors, and 155 Bioethics Minors. We also have MA and PhD graduate programs. The candidate must have a Ph.D. in Philosophy at the time of appointment. Candidates for the position must clearly demonstrate the potential for excellence in research and teaching and have a record of (or clear potential for) distinguished scholarship, grant-funded research, and student mentorship. Experience writing or conducting research in the specialty area of health disparities is required. The candidate should be willing to support the mission of LUC and the goals of a Jesuit Catholic Education.
