Research Associate/Instructor (EXPIRED)

Instructor will teach 3 courses / year in biomedical ethics, on campus and online for our Ecampus program. Appointment duration is 2-3 years.

Will work closely with faculty, primarily on supporting programming and curriculum development in biomedical ethics and the medical humanities. This may include helping plan and organize conferences (both virtual and in-person), helping coordinate edited collections, helping develop courses, and other academic programs, and other similar sorts of projects. Position duties likely to include:

1)      Coordinate and assist with organization of national professional conference on biomedical ethics, health humanities, and religion in March 2022;
2)      Coordinate and assist with organization of conference on pandemics and health humanities;
3)      Create and develop educational opportunities in the health humanities (emphases to include: philosophical and religious ethics, history and literary narratives, and health equity);
4)      Oversee research, scholarship, and publishing opportunities for students in the medical humanities certificate.

The research associate will develop research skills in biomedical ethics that include empirical research methods, study design, data collection and analysis, and scholarly writing. Responsible for identification of new knowledge resulting from their research. Potential for public-facing engagement with community presenting their research.
