Assistant Professor of Philosophy (tenure track) The Department of Philosophy at Florida State University (FSU) invites applications for a position as an Assistant Professor. This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position with an anticipated start date in August 2022. Salary competitive. The normal teaching load is four courses per year on a semester system. The Areas of Specialization and Competence for this position are history of philosophy. The department has pressing needs in post-Enlightenment European philosophy, including Kant. We also have an interest in expanding our offerings in non-Western philosophy. Duties include research, teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and service. The Department of Philosophy is an extremely active research department with a strong graduate program, so the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to research and scholarship through high quality publications in top-tier venues. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Ph.D. in Philosophy (or highest degree appropriate) from an accredited institution by time of appointment; demonstrated potential to establish a successful program of research and scholarship; demonstrated ability to teach and participate in our strong philosophy undergraduate, M.A., and Ph.D. programs.
