Purdue University’s Department of Philosophy is seeking a medieval philosopher for a three-year postdoctoral research associate position (August 1, 2022–July 31, 2025). AOS: Medieval philosophy; AOC: Open.
Principle Duties: Purdue is a member of the American Association of Universities, and seeks a philosopher of exceptional promise who will contribute to the excellence of our department and college. Teaching load is 3 courses/year, undergraduate and graduate, including two courses per year in the College of Liberal Arts’ Cornerstone Integrated Liberal Arts first-year curriculum. This curriculum is highly flexible but emphasizes student engagement with primary texts in philosophy, literature, and history. The position includes a salary of $45,000 and an annual research allowance of $1,500. The successful applicant will also be given the opportunity (and funding) to organize a conference in the second or third year of their fellowship
Qualifications: To be eligible for consideration, applicants must have received a Ph.D. in philosophy between September 1, 2017 and June 30, 2022.
The College: The College of Liberal Arts at Purdue University is embarking upon searches for a number of faculty and postdoctoral positions to begin in Fall 2022. These positions will advance research within and across disciplines, and intersect with technology, data science, and engineering in relevant and important ways. These positions include teaching in our innovative, nationally-recognized Cornerstone Integrated Liberal Arts Program that educates students across the university.
