Postdoctoral Research Associate (EXPIRED)

The Glasscock Center for Humanities Research at Texas A&M University is pleased to be accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate beginning in the spring semester of 2022. Scholars in the humanities who received their doctorate no more than three years ago, as well as Ph.D. candidates who will have their degree in-hand by December 2021, are invited to apply. This postdoctoral position will afford an opportunity to work closely with the Center to develop its initiatives and programs and to bring new insights and approaches to the humanities as a whole. 

The Glasscock Center is dedicated to fostering and celebrating the humanities and humanities research among the community of scholars at Texas A&M University and in the world beyond the academy. The Center is committed to programs and outreach that support underrepresented and marginalized groups and encourages applications which align with these same values. In line with the Glasscock Center’s ongoing initiatives (found on our website), the Center is especially interested in research at the intersection of environmental, health, and public humanities for this position.

The length of the postdoctoral position is one year, with the possibility of an extension of up to one additional year. The salary is commensurate and includes benefits; the Postdoctoral Research Associate will also be provided with a $2500 yearly research fund to be used for travel, archival work, or other research opportunities, subject to approval from the Glasscock Center’s Director and Associate Director. During the year, the Postdoctoral Research Associate will be asked to participate in the development of programs for the Glasscock Center’s ongoing initiatives and present on their own research progress.

• Academic transcript confirming completion of PhD

• Please note: The position requires conferral of a PhD.  If the degree has not been conferred at the time of application, a letter needs to be attached to the transcript from the candidate’s Graduate Office, Registrar, or PhD supervisor, certifying that all requirements for the degree have been met and stating the anticipated degree conferral date
