Job description

Ursinus College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor appointment in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies.  The area of specialization is open. The successful candidate will have competence in areas that would contribute to one or more of the college’s interdisciplinary programs and encourage our students to appreciate diverse perspectives—such as Philosophy of Race, Philosophy of Sex and Gender, Queer Theory, Post-Colonial Philosophy, and Feminist Philosophy.

Teaching responsibilities include upper- and lower-division classes in Philosophy as well as the college’s first-year seminar, the Common Intellectual Experience. We seek candidates who are comfortable with student-centered learning and able to work closely with students on independent projects.  Moreover, faculty are expected to sustain scholarly production. Ph.D. expected by fall 2022. Submit applications through Interfolio by December 1, 2021.  Candidates should submit the following specific documents:

•    a statement addressing teaching experience, practices, and goals.
