Job description |
Description We are seeking an assistant professor specializing in metaphysics, construed broadly to concern, for example, philosophy of science, philosophy of mind, philosophy of language, or ontology. Area of competence is open. However, the department has teaching needs in formal logic, modern philosophy, feminist philosophy, and business ethics. The typical teaching load is 2 courses per semester and involves teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will be a central member of a vibrant intellectual community that prizes the ability to converse across philosophical traditions and sub-disciplines and values interdisciplinary engagement. We are especially interested in applications from qualified candidates who are committed to practicing philosophy in an inclusive and cooperative mode, while achieving rigor and excellence in their research and teaching.
