Position Summary

The successful applicant’s duties will be based on an effort distribution that includes research, teaching and outreach/service.

Research:

• All faculty members in the College of Human Medicine are expected to generate extramural funding to support their research and to regularly communicate outcomes to their professional communities via peer-reviewed publications in quality journals, and other acceptable forms of peer-reviewed scholarship (abstracts, presentations, etc.).
• Desirable areas of expertise include, but are not limited to: social determinants of health, health equity, social justice, health disparities, mental health, disability studies, public health, health policy, health services research, neuroethics, research ethics, or clinical ethics.

Teaching:

• Teaching will primarily be in curricular activities led by the Center for Bioethics and Social Justice in MSU’s College of Human Medicine.

Outreach/service:

• Outreach can take a variety of forms, including hosting meetings with local community groups, facilitating campus dialogue around bioethics and social justice, or presentations to health professionals and public audiences.
• Active participation in professional service and in institutional service.
