Founded in 1919, AUC moved to a new 270-acre state-of-the-art campus in New Cairo in 2008. Job Description:

The Department of Philosophy at the American University in Cairo (AUC) is seeking to recruit for two renewable four-year positions in Philosophy, to begin in Fall 2022. The successful candidates will be expected to pursue an active research agenda. Teaching experience is an asset. English is the language of instruction. The successful candidates will have a teaching-load of three courses per semester, with two preparations, as they will each teach two sections per semester of AUC's freshman/sophomore level Philosophical Thinking course.

AOS: Analytic Philosophy and Logic

AOC: History of Philosophy and Introduction to Philosophy (the ability to successfully teach introductory, core-curriculum courses in Philosophical Thinking is essential).

Requirements:

Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment.
