The Department of Philosophy at the University of Warwick is inviting applications for an assistant professorship. We are looking to appoint an assistant professor with the capacity to further strengthen our research in logic and the philosophy of mathematics and to contribute to running our successful, interdisciplinary mathematics and philosophy undergraduate programme. We particularly welcome applications from members of groups currently underrepresented in philosophy.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding researcher with the capacity to further strengthen our research cluster in logic and the philosophy of mathematics, and a dedicated and successful teacher. We are especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and/or service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of our staff-student community. We are committed to a research-led approach to teaching and to providing our staff with an environment that supports developing their research and their teaching to the highest level.

You will join an ambitious, collegial, and welcoming department that is well-regarded internationally. We are placed 43rd in the world in the 2021 QS rankings for Philosophy. In the latest Research Excellence Framework (REF 2014), we were ranked 1st in the UK for the quality of our research and 4th overall. The Warwick Mathematics Institute, with whom we partner in running the mathematics and philosophy programme, was ranked 3rd in the UK both overall and for research quality. We are ranked 4th in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2022 and 6th in the Guardian University Guide 2022.
