The University of Cologne invites applications for a 12-month postdoc position affiliated to the Chair for Epistemology, Philosophy of Science and Logic (Prof. Thomas Grundmann). Requirements. To qualify for this position, the applicant must have a Ph.D. in philosophy with a focus on contemporary epistemology. ABD candidates will be considered. Knowledge of the German language is not required. It is not necessary to have the citizenship of an EU member state. Job Description. The successful candidate will have an active research project within contemporary epistemology. Preparation of and application for an own third-party funded project (further funding of one's own position) on this basis is desirable. The teaching load is 2 courses á 2 academic hours/week/term in the disciplines of epistemology, philosophy of science or logic. The successful candidate will be expected to regularly attend meetings and lectures and to assist the Chair in organizational matters. Job title, salary & starting date. The German job title is "Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter" and the salary level is 13 TV-L, 100%. The net salary depends on age, tax level (family situation), and years of experiences. The minimum annual net salary is 25.629 Euros. The start date is April 1, 2022. The position ends on March 31, 2023. Diversity & Inclusiveness.
