Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy (EXPIRED)

The Philosophy Department at Bucknell University invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy to begin August 2022. The successful candidate will teach two sections of a topical introduction to philosophy course and an intermediate course each semester: Contemporary Ethical Theory (Fall ’22) and History of Modern (Spring ’23). The Department particularly welcomes applications from candidates whose research focuses on Modern Philosophy or those with experience teaching the History of Modern Philosophy, especially in ways that diversify the typical “canon.”

We seek a teacher-scholar with broad philosophical interests, an understanding of the task of teaching in an undergraduate liberal arts curriculum, and a commitment to diversity and inclusive pedagogy. Ph.D. or ABD status in Philosophy is required by the start of the appointment.
