Job description

The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies invites applications for a full-time lecturer in philosophy. AOS: open, areas of teaching competency: applied ethics (especially business ethics), introduction to philosophy, introduction to ethics, logic and critical thinking. The teaching load is five course sections per semester. The successful candidate will teach introductory courses in philosophy and may teach courses related to the candidate’s expertise or to fulfil the department’s needs.

The department is committed to a teacher-scholar model, and candidates should discuss evidence of both teaching excellence and self-reflective pedagogy in their letters of application. Candidates should also prepare a diversity statement that outlines their experience and goals for promoting an inclusive learning environment that facilitates the success of all students, including marginalized and underserved communities, as well as evidence of how they address issues of diversity and inclusion as related to teaching philosophy. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Philosophy by the time of appointment in August 2022.
