Job description

Position Description: 

Yale-NUS College is a highly selective liberal arts and science college in Singapore. Co-founded by Yale University and the National University of Singapore, the College is committed to excellence in research and teaching in a full residential programme that integrates living and learning. Its curriculum educates students in Asian and Western intellectual traditions as well as current scientific thought.   

The College seeks to hire a full-time Lecturer in Philosophy. The successful candidate is expected to teach at least five courses in the Academic Year 2022/2023, all within the Philosophy major. The appointment will be for one year, beginning in August 2022. If curricular needs require it, the College will consider the option of an extension to the one-year appointment.

Eligibility and Qualifications

  •  A Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., Philosophy) is required. 
  • A proven record of excellent teaching at the college level and a commitment to effective creative pedagogical approaches for undergraduate teaching will be an advantage. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Teach at least five courses in the Philosophy major.
