Trent University invites applications for one 1-year limited-term appointment (LTA) in the Department of Philosophy at the rank of Assistant Professor commencing August 15, 2022. This position is located at the Durham Campus and is subject to budgetary approval. Candidates are expected to have completed a Ph.D. in Philosophy. While the area is open, preference will be given to applicants with an active research program in Philosophy of Mind or related areas. All applicants must demonstrate excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level. The successful candidate will teach seven half-credit courses—three in the fall semester, three in the winter semester, and one in the summer semester. We expect the successful candidate will teach the following combination of courses in the fall and winter semesters at our Durham campus with the flexibility to implement alternative modes of teaching in the event on-campus courses are interrupted. Fall PHIL 1100H: Introduction to Philosophy—Knowledge and Reality PHIL 2270H: Philosophy of Mind PHIL 3020H: Philosophy of Emotion Winter PHIL 2030H: Death PHIL 3220H: Metaphysics PHIL 4710H: Advanced Topics in Philosophy of Mind Summer (one half-credit course to be determined) |
