The Department of History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Pittsburgh seeks candidates to fill three positions as a Visiting lecturers specializing in History and Philosophy of Medicine for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Required Qualifications: (1) A Ph.D. or ABD status in History and Philosophy of Science, Philosophy or a closely related field expected by the proposed start date, and (2) evidence of teaching experience.

Responsibilities:  Undergraduate teaching (Three sections of Medicine and Morality and three sections of Mind and Medicine, over the course of the year.  These sections are capped at 35 students each.)  Regular departmental duties.

Applicants should submit a CV, a document listing the names and contact information of three references who can provide a letter of recommendation, evidence of teaching ability, and sample syllabi. 

In addition, applicants are expected to provide a brief personal statement that addresses their contributions to diversity through research, teaching, service, and/or community engagement. Please mention any past contributions as well as any planned or potential contributions.
