About the Department:

The Department of Philosophy at UTEP has a long tradition of supporting work in Ethics, Political Philosophy, and Latin American Philosophy. The department seeks to deepen and expand the work of its graduate students in these areas. The department sustains an active research faculty. Since 2007, the Department of Philosophy has supported an MA in Philosophy, which has successfully placed several graduates in high-level PhD programs.

Job Description:

The Department of Philosophy at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) invites applications for a one year full-time Visiting Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2022. Area of specialization: Ethics, especially Metaethics and Moral Psychology. Areas of competence: Feminist Philosophy and at least one of Philosophy of Law, Social-Political Philosophy, or Biomedical Ethics. The teaching load is 2/3. Service to the department, college, and university is expected. Relocation and conference travel support expected.

Requirements:

Ph.D. awarded by December 2022. Area of specialization: Ethics, especially Metaethics and Moral Psychology. Areas of competence: Feminist Philosophy and at least one of Philosophy of Law, Social-Political Philosophy, or Biomedical Ethics. Experience working with diverse student populations and first-generation students is highly desirable.

Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
