Job description

Capital University's Department of Religion and Philosophy invites applications for a faculty position in Philosophy at the rank of Instructor. This is a one-year term faculty position with the possibility of ongoing renewal. AOS and AOC open, but the primary responsibility for the faculty member will be teaching the first-year ethics course in our Signature Learning (general education) program. The remainder of the teaching load will be required courses in our philosophy major, including Introduction to Logic and Contemporary Problems in Philosophy, and electives within the candidate's areas of interest.

Candidates who can teach in the areas of environmental ethics and feminist philosophy are strongly preferred. A Ph.D. in philosophy and two years teaching experience is required for this position. Applicants without a Ph.D. in philosophy will not be considered.
