Visiting Lecturer (EXPIRED)

University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA.  Visiting Lecturer position in the Department of Philosophy, pending budgetary approval, for the academic year 2022-3.  

AOS/AOC: Ethics/Practical Ethics. 

Compensation for academic year: $44,000 

Responsibilities: 3/3 undergraduate teaching load.  The successful candidate will teach three undergraduate courses in Fall 2022: PHIL 0320 Social Philosophy, PHIL 0350 Philosophy, and Public Issues, and PHIL 0352 Philosophy and Public Issues-Writing Intensive.  The three undergraduate courses to be taught in Spring 2023 will be determined in consultation with the successful candidate. 

Required qualifications: Ph.D. in Philosophy; teaching competence in ethics/practical ethics. Preferred qualifications include experience in teaching philosophy to undergraduates, good communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population.
