Job description |
Assistant Professor of Philosophy, tenure-track. In exceptional cases, a higher rank may be considered. AOS: Expertise in Lonergan Studies. AOC: Philosophy of Religion, Ethics, and broad competence in the History of Philosophy. Candidate should be prepared to teach introductions to, as well as advanced graduate seminars on, the thought of Bernard Lonergan. Successful candidates will have a record of strong research combined with outstanding research potential, and demonstrated excellence in teaching philosophy. Responsibilities include undergraduate core and elective courses and graduate courses (2-2 course load) plus Ph.D. supervision and service to the department. The department supports an interdisciplinary core program in the study of major philosophical and religious texts (Perspectives on Western Culture) and a program of ethical, political and theological analysis for students engaged in service projects (PULSE Program).
