About the Role
The School of Historical and Philosophical Studies (SHAPS) is at the forefront of teaching and research in the humanities in Australia.

The Faculty welcomes applications to fill the role of Lecturer in Philosophy of Mind and Cognitive Science to complement its strengths and support its teaching and research objectives. The successful applicant will be expected to teach, research, supervise and administer at a level commensurate with a Level B Lecturer.

Responsibilities include:

  • Subject coordination and delivery
  • Curriculum design and innovation, including cross-disciplinary approaches
  • RHD supervision
  • Leadership in development of national and international institutional partnerships and networks

About You
You are an established academic, able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and capacity to achieve a high-level of research performance through the steady production of refereed publications. You will have made a significant contribution to research and engagement in Philosophy and will aspire to cultivate research links and networks with internal and external networks/partners nationally and internationally. Your professional and collegial behaviour will assist you to work effectively within a broad team, as well as supervising honours and postgraduate research.

You will also have:

  • A PhD or equivalent degree in Philosophy or related discipline
  • A specialisation in the Philosophy of Mind and Cognitive Science that complements the existing research and teaching strengths of the discipline
  • A capacity to attract research grants
