Tasks and responsibilities:

• Independent research with the aim of completing a doctoral thesis

• Independent teaching within the context of the curricula at the Department of Philosophy
• Participation in the teaching and research activities of the Department as well as in committees (in particular in the curricular committee)

Prerequisites for the appointment:

• Completed Master’s or Diploma studies in the field of Philosophy at a domestic or foreign higher education institution
• Research in at least two of the following areas: Philosophy of Politics, Philosophy of Culture, Gender Studies, «Philosophy and Literature»

Additional desired qualifications:

• Good knowledge of German (at least C1)
• Early stage lectures and publication(s)
• Ability to work in a team
• Period(s) spent abroad (in non-German-speaking countries in the case of applicants whose native language is German)
• Applicants who combine creativity with scientific accuracy in their independent philosophical studies
• Competences in Literary Studies, and in particular in German Studies, with a view to participating in the key research area on «Bachmann and Philosophy»

Our offer:

The employment contract is concluded for the position as Predoc Scientist and stipulates a starting salary of € 2,294 gross per month (14 times a year) respectively; previous experience deemed relevant to the job can be recognised in accordance with the collective agreement, raising the salary to max. € 2,719.40 gross (lit. a).
