The Philosophy Department of Hampden-Sydney College seeks applicants in any field of analytic philosophy (except early modern and philosophy of science) for a full-time, tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. We seek an exceptional teacher with a demonstrated commitment to liberal-arts education and an active research agenda. Teaching load is seven courses per year; classes are typically small and taught seminar style. Successful applicants are expected to teach a course in professional ethics for the Wilson Center for Leadership in the Public Interest and should be eager to participate both in Wilson Center co-curricular programming and in the College’s Honors and Core Cultures programs. Applicants must have a Ph.D. by the date of appointment.
