Assistant Professor (EXPIRED)

The Division of Humanities of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor in Philosophy of Science.  The successful candidate is expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses, teach the course of introduction to logic and contribute to the foundational Common Core course, Critical Thinking and Data Literacy.

Apart from a master’s degree program in Chinese Culture and a research postgraduate degree program at both the master’s and doctoral levels under the broad umbrella of the Division of Humanities, the Division offers general education courses for all undergraduates at HKUST.  Together with the Division of Social Science, the Division of Humanities offers a multidisciplinary undergraduate major program of BSc in Global China Studies.  

Qualifications

Applicants should either have or will receive a PhD degree in Philosophy by August 2023 from a reputable university.  The successful candidate should demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching and show promise for publications with international impact.  Prior publications in the philosophy of science, especially in leading journals, will be highly valued.
