The Department of Philosophy at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship beginning in January, 2023.
Special duties relating to Paul Woodruff’s office, unpublished material, or material in process of publication. These special duties will include those of a literary executor for the time of appointment, overseeing publication of work that may have been accepted but not yet published. The postdoc will also be responsible for the final disposition of Paul Woodruff’s papers and books, in consultation with him or his heirs.
Research and writing related to postdoc's research.
Active participation on appropriate reading groups and seminars.
There are no teaching duties for this fellowship.
Applicants should hold a PhD in Philosophy, received within the last three years.
Expertise in ancient philosophy, ethics, or related areas.

Retirement Plan Eligibility:
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
A criminal history background check will be required for finalist(s) under consideration for this position.
