Harvard History of Philosophy Workshop Postdoctoral Fellow in Philosophy (EXPIRED)

The Department of Philosophy seeks applications for a postdoctoral fellow in Philosophy. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1st, 2023. The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for teaching the equivalent of two undergraduate courses and advising an undergraduate senior thesis per year, with 50 percent of the appointment reserved for the postdoctoral fellow’s own research. At least one course will be in the history of philosophy broadly construed to include all traditions from ancient times through the 19th century. The postdoctoral fellow will also be expected to play an active role in the Harvard History of Philosophy Workshop.

The position is for one year with the possibility of renewal for up to three years in total, dependent on performance.   Doctorate in Philosophy with an AOS in the history of philosophy required by the time the appointment begins.   Demonstrated strong commitment to teaching is desired.
