Job description |
Position Summary: The Department of Philosophy at Metropolitan State University of Denver invites applications for a full-time tenure track position at Assistant Professor level to begin in fall of 2023. The Department is interested in candidates who can teach and have a promising research agenda exploring one of the following religious traditions– Hinduism, Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, or Islam—and also have competence in other world religions. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in the languages of the religion(s) they study. Duties/Responsibilities The successful candidate will teach three courses per semester, which include broad introductory courses in Religious Studies. The successful candidate will also be expected to teach upper-division courses in their area of expertise, as well as courses that meet the needs of the department. This position requires a commitment to excellence in teaching a diverse student body; scholarship; and service both within the university and the profession or community. Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Philosophy, Religious Studies, or a closely related discipline.
