Job description |
The Department of Philosophy at SUNY Oswego seeks to hire an Assistant Professor of Philosophy (TT). The Assistant Professor of Philosophy will have a strong research trajectory in ethics, as well as relevant teaching experience in applied ethics, such as business ethics, and information ethics/ethics in information and communication technology. In addition to these, the Assistant Professor may teach a variety of courses within the department, including some of: social/political philosophy, philosophy and feminism, and courses which serve to broaden the diversity of the curriculum of our department (e.g. philosophy of race). The successful candidate would serve a leadership role in the recently established Philosophy, Politics, and Economics major housed in the Philosophy Department. Normal semester teaching responsibilities will be one large course and two smaller courses. Student advising, working with students on improving writing skills, and university service are also expected. Required Qualifications:
