Postdoctoral Research Fellow (EXPIRED)

Grade UE07: £36,333 - £43,155 per annum

College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences / School of Law / School of Philosophy

Full-time: 35 hours per week

Fixed-term: until 30/06/2025 with possibility of 6-month extension

The Edinburgh School of Law, in association with the School of Philosophy and the Centre for Technomoral Futures in the Edinburgh Futures Institute, is looking for a postdoctoral scholar working in political, moral, and/or legal philosophy who is interested in artificial intelligence.

Your skills and attributes for success:

• You have specialisation or demonstrable competence in political, moral, and/or legal philosophy.
• You have an emerging profile in the ethics and politics of artificial intelligence and machine learning, or can demonstrate a willingness and ability to contribute to this growing field.
• You are willing to engage in philosophical scholarship of the highest quality, consistent with ambitions to publish in top-ranking generalist and other top-ranking philosophy journals.
• You are comfortable working on projects both individually and collaboratively.
• You are willing to take the lead in organising a workshop to be hosted in Oxford or Edinburgh at some point in 2024.
