Postdoc (EXPIRED)

The postdoc position is part of the AHRC-DFG funded project „Moral Obligation, Epistemology and Public Health: The Case of Vaccine Hesitancy“ located at the University of Cologne and the University of Warwick. The position is situated in the Cologne Center for Contemporary Epistemology and the Kantian Tradition (CONCEPT) led by Prof. Sven Bernecker. The project looks at vaccine hesitancy as an issue at the intersection of ethics and epistemology. 

YOUR TASKS
» Participation in project related research activities
» International correspondence in order to initiate and/ or pursue co-operations with other scientific institutions
» Preparation and regular attendance at team meetings and in-house workshops/lectures
» Support for the organization of events

YOUR PROFILE
» The applicant must have a Ph.D. in philosophy by the time they start the job. 
» The applicant must have expertise in at least one of the areas of contemporary epistemology relevant for the project. These areas include, but are not limited to the epistemology of deep disagreement, evidence-based and personalized medicine,
epistemology of epidemiology, fake news/journalism, epistemic injustice, evidence hierarchies, statistical and individualized evidence, epistemic risk, political epistemology and epistemic conformity and paternalism.

The position is available from October 1, 2023 to March 14, 2024. It cannot be renewed. If the applicant meets the relevant wage requirements and personal qualifications, the salary is based on renumeration group 13 TV-L of the pay scale for the German public sector.
