The Department of Philosophy at Smith College invites applications for a 1-year, benefits eligible position at the rank of Lecturer, to begin January 1, 2024. The department has curricular needs especially in logic and Buddhist philosophy. Emphasis on the latter reflects the department’s commitment to teaching in multiple philosophical traditions, spanning European and non-European philosophy. Status of ABD in Philosophy is expected by the time of appointment. Candidates from groups underrepresented in Philosophy are encouraged to apply. Located in Northampton, MA, Smith College is the largest women’s college in the country and is dedicated to excellence in teaching and research across the liberal arts.
