Assistant Professor of Philosophy (EXPIRED)

Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Multidisciplinary Studies at Indiana State University has an opening for a tenure-track assistant professor of Philosophy beginning in Fall 2024. Specific Responsibilities The candidate should show promise of being an effective teacher and advisor for undergraduate students. We are looking for an interdisciplinarily trained philosopher who is passionate, innovative, and can make meaningful contributions to the department’s programs (Philosophy, Gender Studies, Sociology, and International Studies) as well as offer courses that could potentially be cross listed with programs beyond the department, for example, African American Studies, Anthropology, Political Science, and History. The candidate will be expected to teach introductory level courses as well as develop new upper division courses in their area(s) of expertise. Some teaching will be online. Normal teaching load for tenure-track faculty is 3/3 for an active scholar. Required Relevant Education & Experience The position requires an earned doctorate in Philosophy or a closely related field.
