Job description

The Department of Philosophy at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, invites applications for one limited-term appointment. We are seeking someone who can teach at least 3 of the following 4 courses: Modern to Postmodern; Advanced Topics in Philosophy/ Moral Problems; Intermediate Special Topics in Philosophy; and Kant (with a preference for Kant’s first Critique). An AOS or AOC in Kant and/or Continental Philosophy will be an asset.

This position is subject to budgetary approval and need, and is a full-time, limited term appointment, normally at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor, beginning January 1, 2012 and ending May 31, 2012. As this is a one term appointment, successful candidates will normally be expected to teach three courses. Individuals holding limited-term appointments may be reappointed, given continued funding and need, as well as satisfactory job performance. Together, this initial appointment and subsequent reappointments may not exceed a span of three consecutive academic years.
