Lecturer (EXPIRED)

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of Philosophy in the Department of History and Philosophy that begins August 2024. 

A commitment to excellence in teaching and service to the university, department and/or discipline is expected of all non-tenure track faculty.

Responsibilities

• Teaching undergraduate courses in the area of Philosophy. 
• Teaching survey courses in Philosophy
• Serving the department, college, university, and/or professional community 
• Ensuring and gauging student success 
• Teaching courses in various modalities, i.e., face-to-face, hybrid, and online
• Teaching load is nine courses per year

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications Include

• A Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a discipline related to Philosophy or a closely related discipline is required.

OR

• A Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in Philosophy is required.

AND

• Expertise in Western and non-Western Philosophies.

NOTE: For ABDs a required degree must be earned by the start date.

Preferred Qualifications Include

• Experience teaching general education courses in Philosophy at the university level
• Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses
• Evidence of teaching and supporting the success of a diverse student body
• Broad expertise in Western and non-Western Philosophies
