This Position

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will conduct research that will advance professional ethics in Engineering and related areas. The Postdoctoral Research Associate  will conduct independent research in this area in addition to collaborating with Dr. Peterson in projects on AI ethics. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will have the opportunity to teach a course in Texas A&M's acclaimed undergraduate engineering ethics program and contribute to the programming associated with the Bovay Endowed Chair of History and Ethics of Professional Engineering. What You Need to Know

Starting Salary: $54,000 (based on selected hire's experience)

Required Education and Experience:

  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Philosophy (when appointed) or a related field

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Peer-reviewed publications on topics relevant for the position

  • Preference will be given to applicants who have recently completed their doctoral degree. This is in alignment with the mission and vision of the Bovay endowment that promotes the areas of research and teaching.

Responsibilities:

  • Research: Conducts research on topics relevant to the ethics of technology.

  • Publishing: Publishes in peer-reviewed journals.

  • Administrative: Assist in organization of the annual Bovay workshop and performs other duties as assigned.
