Postdoc position (full-time) in Lichtenberg Group for History and Philosophy of Physics at the Institute of Philosophy University Bonn

Starting on 1 October 2024 and a fixed-term contract for three years with the possibility of an extension for three more years, the Institute of Philosophy is seeking a  Postdoctoral Fellow (full-time). We invite applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in history and philosophy of physics. The position will provide an outstanding early-career scholar with unique opportunity to pursue research in collaboration with the other members of the Lichtenberg group in integrated history and philosophy of physics at the University of Bonn. More details on the group, and further employment opportunities, can be found at https://www.history-and-philosophy-of-physics.com/.

 Your tasks: 

• To participate in the research life of the Lichtenberg group and the Institute of Phi-losophy 
• To teach two seminars per semester (90 minutes per week each), on topics of your own choosing, at undergraduate and/or graduate level 
• To take part in the administration and organisation of activities by the Lichtenberg group and the chair of natural philosophy and philosophy of science 

Your profile: 

• PhD in history and/or philosophy of science with AOS philosophy of physics, or in Physics with some experience in philosophy. All PhD requirements must be com-pleted by the starting date of the position 
• Native speaker or near-native command of the English language. Knowledge of Ger-man is not required but would be an advantage 
• Motivated, flexible, team oriented and interested in continued professional develop-ment
