Open Rank Position in Philosophy at the Department of History, Philosophy, and Religious studies of the School of Sciences and Humanities, (EXPIRED)

The Department of History, Philosophy, and Religious Studies includes 19 members and offers a major in History as well as minors in both History and Philosophy & Religious Studies. Most students participate in the NU foundation year program, and thus enter the School of Sciences and Humanities with extensive English language training and academic preparation. SSH programs emphasize student-oriented learning, with small class sizes and a low student-to-faculty ratio of about 15:1. All classes are taught in English.

Successful candidates will be required to contribute to a team-taught introductory Ethics course.

The position is available from August 2024. The contract is for a period of three years and is renewable indefinitely upon positive review.

Successful applicants for Assistant Professor will have been awarded a PhD by the start date in August 2024.

They should demonstrate potential for excellence in research, teaching, and service. Successful senior level applicants will be expected to have a demonstrated track record of excellence in each of these areas. The teaching load is 2+2 with TA support for large classes.
