Research Fellowship in the Humanities and Social Sciences University of Cambridge - Newnham College, Cambridge

Newnham College, Cambridge invites applications from women graduates of any university for a stipendiary or non-stipendiary Research Fellowship in subjects falling within the general field of the Humanities and Social Sciences, tenable for three years from 1 October 2012. This advertisement complies with legislation on sex discrimination, relying on Section 43 of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975, Section 5(3) of the Employment Act 1989, and Article 3 of the Newnham College Charter.

Applications are sought this year from graduates working in a field covered by one of the following Faculties of Cambridge University: Classics, Archaeology & Anthropology, Modern & Medieval Languages, History & Philosophy of Science, Philosophy, Geography.

Graduate students of Newnham College in any subject within the general field of Humanities and Social Sciences may also apply. There is no age limit but the research fellowship will normally be awarded to candidates who have recently completed their PhD or are close to completion. Further Particulars may be obtained from the College's website http://www.newn.cam.ac.uk/joining-newnham/research-fellowships and applications must be submitted on-line via the same web address.

The closing date for applications is Friday 4th November 2011.  

Selected candidates will be invited by Friday 16th December 2011 to submit on-line, by Friday 23rd December 2011, a dissertation or other written work.

The College expects to reach a decision by Friday 24th February 2012.
