Job Description:

Johns Hopkins Carey Business School invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in the discipline of Business Ethics to start in May or August 2024. We welcome applications from candidates motivated by the unique opportunity to participate in growing a world-class business school at a premier private university. This position is open at both Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC campuses.

We are especially interested in candidates with a passion for teaching and a strong record in the classroom.  The Law and Ethics group consists of a collegial group of faculty members that have academic and professional experience in different areas of Law and Ethics.  The group teaches classes that have critical implications for technology, healthcare, environmental sustainability, and international business and welcomes those with experience in multiple areas.  Candidates with a strong academic background and practical experience in applying ethical principles in real-world business scenarios could offer invaluable insights to students.

Responsibilities: Teaching foundational courses in business ethics at the MBA/MS level and contributing to the Carey community through college and/or university service.

Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in ethics or a related discipline is required for this appointment and must be conferred by the employment start date. A PhD in ethics or a related discipline is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated teaching success in a business school or graduate professional school is strongly preferred.
  • A demonstrated commitment to teaching and engaging with diverse populations or have research interests in areas that address diversity, equity, and inclusion in business ethics is preferred.

Depending on the level of academic and/or professional experience of the successful candidate, the appointment will be made at the Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level.
