Assistant Professor (EXPIRED)

Georgia College & State University is seeking a dynamic teacher with a primary expertise in African American Philosophy and the Philosophy of Race who will offer stimulating introductory and upper level philosophy courses based on the teaching of primary sources both western and non-western. (S)he will also occasionally be required to teach one or more sections of a Critical Perspectives Seminar and/or Global Perspectives Seminar in GC's core curriculum.  The position will have a 4/4 teaching load.        

We are particularly interested in finding someone who can show philosophy's relevance to contemporary issues of race, gender, class as well as relate philosophy to contemporary US and global contexts. Ability to teach critical thinking is also desired.
