PhD Research Fellowship in Philosophy and Artificial Intelligence (EXPIRED)

The Department of Philosophy invites applications for a PhD position in philosophy and artificial intelligence commencing from August 1st 2024. The position is for a fixed-term period of four years. The position is fully funded for a fixed-term period of four years, with 25% teaching.

The proposed project must be on a topic that concerns philosophy and artificial intelligence (AI). This should be broadly construed and can for instance include ethical or foundational questions related to the nature or use of artificial intelligence. The project must also fit within one of the research groups at the department.

In assessing the applications, emphasis is placed on the quality of the project and the academic qualifications of the applicants. Strategic considerations, motivation, and the applicant's personal eligibility will also be taken into account.
