Job description

We welcome candidates with a Ph.D. in any field in the humanities, including but not limited to literature, history, classics, philosophy, political theory, religious studies, African American studies, environmental studies, and/or women’s, gender, and sexuality studies. Given the needs of the Program and the College, the Assistant Teaching Professor will focus primarily on offering first-year seminars focused on the intersection of leadership, character, and the environment and teaching other humanities courses related to ethics and/or the environment, some of which may contribute to Wake Forest’s new Ethical Inquiry requirement. The candidates may also have opportunities to teach other courses in the Interdisciplinary Humanities Program based on their scholarly expertise. Compelling applicants will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in interdisciplinary teaching and mentoring undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds, including international students, first-generation students, and those who identify as members of historically marginalized communities.
