The Department of Philosophy at The Ohio State University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor appointment in the History of Philosophy for the 2024-2025 academic year. The appointed individual will conduct philosophical research, teach at all levels of the undergraduate Philosophy curriculum, and participate in the cooperative administrative of the department. This appointment is for a one-year term that will begin on August 15, 2024. Area of Specialization: History of Philosophy, with a preference for Ancient Philosophy or Medieval Philosophy Area of Competence: Open Education and Experience Requirements Required: The successful applicant must have a PhD in Philosophy (ABD’s are welcome to apply but must have their PhD in full by the start of the appointment), or a related field, by the start of this appointment on August 15, 2024. Prior teaching experience at the college level is required.
